Description
Making your CNC more versatile shouldn’t require a full overhaul.
If you’re running a Onefinity CNC with the Z-20 slider and want to keep using your 65mm trim router as a backup - this reduction shim is exactly what you need. It adapts an 80mm spindle mount to securely fit a 65mm router, no tools, mods, or headaches involved.
What It Does
This shim converts the 80mm spindle mount on the Onefinity Z-20 to snugly fit any 65mm router, like the Makita trim router.
Installation is simple: just drop it into the Z-20 slider or slide it over your router itself. That’s it. There’s no need to change out the mount or make permanent adjustments.
You can switch between a trim router and a spindle whenever you need. This is particularly helpful as a backup if you ever need to swap out one for the other.
It also works to adapt your 80mm dust boot to a 65mm router, giving you more flexibility with your accessories and workflow.
Why I Made This
When I first started with the Onefinity, I used a Makita trim router and the standard Suckit dust boot.
As my projects grew, so did the demands on my CNC setup. I wanted better dust collection and a spindle, but I couldn’t replace everything at once. So, I upgraded to an 80mm Z-axis and designed this shim to keep using the 65mm router in the meantime.
It worked so well, I used the same piece to mount a 4-inch dust boot to the Makita, no mods required. Even now, my Makita trim router is still my go-to backup whenever I run into a VFD or Spindle issue. This adapter saved me from downtime more than once, and it's now a permanent part of my setup.
